Forestal del Sur S.A. is a Chilean Company founded in 1988 in order to supply woodchips and pulp logs for the pulp and paper industry in Japan, China, Portugal, Norway, Sweden and the Chilean domestic market.

OUR ACTIVITIES ARE CONCENTRATED IN TWO AREAS: CONCEPCIÓN (BIO-BÍO REGION), AND PUERTO MONTT (LOS LAGOS REGION).
CONCEPCIÓN
CORONEL PORT
Concepción Area is located 500 Kms south of Santiago and it concentrates a major proportion of the Chilean forestry industry. Forestal del Sur S.A. exports woodchips and supplies the domestic market for more than 30 years in this area.

Forestal del Sur S.A. has developed a robust supply chain in order to secure the woodchips for our customers. The chipping operations are provided by related companies, thus achieving greater flexibility and efficiency in the different processes.
PUERTO MONTT
CALBUCO AND PUERTO MONTT PORTS
Puerto Montt Area is located 1,000 Kms south of Santiago. Forestal del Sur S.A. exports about 200,000 BDMT per year through Calbuco port and started exporting pine sawlogs in 2021 through Puerto Montt port.

Forestal del Sur S.A. supply chain from the stump forest to the chipping mill in Puerto Montt Area is composed of strategic joint ventures between related companies, which have long term supply contracts with Forestal del Sur S.A.
RELATED COMPANIES
BOSQUES LOS LAGOS
Bosques los Lagos SpA (BLL) is the continuation company of Forestal Los Lagos that was created in 1988 by Forestal del Sur. Today Bosques los Lagos is a joint venture between an American investment fund (80%) and the major shareholders of Forestal del Sur (20%). Its objective is the establishment of Eucalyptus plantations in order to supply woodchips for the pulp and paper industry.
FORESTAL ATLÁNTICO SUR
Forestal del Sur S.A. owns 50% of Forestal Atlántico Sur S.A.R.L. (FAS) and its Uruguayan partner, the other 50%. FAS supplies from Uruguay sawlogs to China and woodchips to Europe and the Uruguayan domestic market. Forestal Atlántico Sur’s chipping facilities are next to Montevideo port and it is able to process 360,000 BDMT per year.
